Our Fabric Printing Process
At Sew Creative Fabrics, we are dedicated to providing you with the finest quality materials for your quilting projects. Our process begins with the selection of 100% Cotton OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified quilting fabric. This certification ensures that the fabric is free from harmful substances and safe for you and your loved ones.
We receive our fabric in large rolls, ranging from 100 to 250 yards. This allows us to print very long, continuous designs that are perfect for your quilting needs. By printing in large bulk lengths, we are able to queue up your ordered designs efficiently and minimize fabric waste. This means more fabric goes into creating beautiful quilts and less ends up as scraps.
We take pride in our commitment to quality and sustainability, ensuring that every piece of fabric you receive from us is not only beautiful but also responsibly produced.
We take pride in using the best materials and techniques to bring your designs to life. Our fabric is printed with organic, biodegradable pigment ink, which means it’s as kind to the environment as it is beautiful.
Our state-of-the-art printer works its magic by applying thousands of tiny pigment particles, each a fine burst of color, directly onto the fabric using precision print heads. This advanced technology ensures every detail of your design is captured with stunning accuracy and vibrancy.
The secret to our exceptional print quality lies in the combination of our high-quality organic inks and binders. The pigment ink is responsible for the rich, vivid colors, while the binder ensures that these colors adhere firmly to the fabric. This results in prints that are not only visually striking but also incredibly durable.
We are committed to sustainability and safety, which is why our organic inks and binders are non-toxic and environmentally friendly. This means you can enjoy the finest, most durable prints without compromising on your values.
Now that the ink is applied, the fabric passes through a specialized heat press and oven, which work together to set the color onto the fabric permanently. This ensures that your designs remain bright and beautiful, wash after wash.
One of the many wonderful things about our process is that it doesn’t require any post-treatment of the fabric. This means we use no water in the printing process, making it one of the most sustainable ways to produce textile prints. By choosing this method, we significantly reduce water waste and environmental impact, all while delivering top-notch prints.
