Schmetz 130/705 H-Q Quilting Needles feature a slim acute point and tapered tip that makes this needle excellent for piercing tightly woven quilting material without causing damage. These needles are made specifically for piecing and machine quilting. The thin, tapered form of these needles allows them to move through many layers smoothly to help eliminate skipped stitches while keeping stitches even. These needles come in two sizes: size 75/11, which is fine for piecing with 50-weight threads, or size 90/14, which works well with heavier plain or variegated 40-weight threads for quilting.

Most Schmetz Needles include two color-coded bands just below the shank. The top color indicates the type of needle, and the lower color indicates the size. The Schmetz Quilting Needles have a green top band. The bottom color bands on these needles will differ per size. Schmetz 130/705 H-Q Quilting Needles are available as a pack of five needles in a plastic case that slides shut for safe storage.
